We have made progress and it’s encouraging but we are a long
way from home. 1.14 million puts us at 29% of the entire budget. We need to get
more funds and i’m hoping we should get to maybe 3 million by Friday. This is a
dream that i need to see happen so we need to put in more effort than we did in
the last days. For those that have donated, we ask that you share the cause on
all forms of social networks, give people the website and like our page on Facebook
as it helps the cause go viral. Follow us on twitter and tweet, retweet, use
hash tags #BabyKelechi or #SaveBabyKelechi and let’s see if we can make it
trend even if just for a few hours.
I told Baby Kelechi’s father
to get back to work and
forget about the surgery as people are taking care of it and they expect Baby
Kelechi to be in India by Saturday. I was referring to YOU when i was saying so.
I told the mother to do all the washing she can and start packing her bags,
she’s leaving for India next week with Baby Kelechi. I intend to keep my word
but i can’t do it without you. We have a long way to go.
My timetable for the entire process is thus:
On Monday (18th June), i would be taking the
mother and child to the passport office in Festac. The passport should be ready
for collection by the next day.
On Tuesday (19th June), i would be going
alongside the Baby and his folks to LUTH to get the entire medical records of
the child, his history and everything that has Baby Kelechi on it. I should
also touch Randle General Hospital so we get everything on the kid there too
(Remember they give him his 2 weeks injections and other drugs). Tuesday is a
very light Day for Doctors at LUTH so they say so am pretty optimistic we can
finish the process that day including picking out a hospital at India and maybe
talking to the Doctors in India.
On Wednesday (20th June), We should be at the
Indian Embassy or Visa Center for the Health Visas. My mum travels to India on
business though but tells me Health Visas are quite cheaper and faster to
process. I’m anticipating a Friday collection date.
On Thursday (21st June), I’d get the Baby Kelechi
and parents set. Put every little thing in order, talk to the Indian Hospital,
get Mrs Njoku a camera (lend me one if you can – we’d return when she get back
), talk to ticketing agents and see if we can get a standby open space for
Friday Night. I’d be looking out for cheaper tickets so if you can get us one,
please contact us.
On Friday (22nd June), Anticipating the
collection of the visas (should be one for mother and child), they should be on
their way to India.
I would get us pictures and videos and solicit Linda Ikeji’s
presence at the airport maybe (i hope she’s seeing this). Arrangements would be
made for us to get progress reports from India with pictures also. Thanks for
your understanding. Meanwhile we don’ have all the money yet and we don’t want
them to get stuck so we still have till Thursday to raise some money people.
Way to go! #SaveBabyKelechi
