BABY KELECHI’s HEALTH

Baby Kelechi is not doing fine at all. On Thursday (14th of June), he was given the Injection that lasts him 2 weeks and costs N15,000 but he didn’t sleep that night. I was with the parents until about 10pm before leaving for my house. They stay at Surulere, somewhere close to Kilo. On Friday, as early as 7.30am while i was at a meeting to get more funds, his parents called me and had to take him to the hospital where they were for pretty much the whole day. I was at the hospital
myself and even wanted to take pictures but the hallway where they were sitting in was dark, my Blackberry battery was almost drained so my flash refused to work plus the situation with the boy and around the hospital was too serious for me to ask them to move to a more illuminated area and pose for pictures. I left the hospital with the Dad and went to get the Bank statement thinking it would show names of donors better. I had to go somewhere else and caught up with the man later (outside the hospital) where i was trying to prepare things for a fundraising on Sunday. I left him by Past 9pm.

More tests were done on the baby and story is still the same, nothing convincing of to shift your mind a little from worries. I made the Dad sneak out with one test documentation so i could sight it but didn’t have time to scan it. I think it was a ‘Stool’ test. Drugs were also bought. The hospital is Randle General Hospital (Children’s section close to St Anthony Catholic church).
Before Monday, i should be able to put up pictures of past prescriptions from both Randle Gen. Hospital and Orthopaedic Hospital Igbobi (Remember Baby Kelechi’s Hand?). The in-hospital pharmacies don’t always give receipt and write the prices most times on the prescription note (a branded paper though). You should know that the money gotten from donations is not being used to Bankroll this pre-surgery treatments. We understand that the Father is not exactly well-to-do coupled with the problems that are eating up his small fortune so i am paying for extra hospital bills. There is an emergency fund i made handy to them just in case. It was about 100,000 naira. As at Thursday (14th), it was 32,000 naira and when i asked how much they paid for drugs on Friday, he said he withdrew 7,000 naira.

The story of everyday activities surrounding Baby Kelechi seemed to get longer especially since you and i got involved and it’s time to cut it short. Pray for #BabyKelechi
